Chithurst Buddhist Monastery Chithurst (W. Sussex), Petersfield, Hampshire GU31 5EU
METTA / KARUNA /MUDITA / UPEKHA Rosalind Hibbins, an English sculptor, is a long standing staunch supporter of CASUNIK since the 1980s. Working through Mr Moeng Phok, she made a marble statue with 4 faces (Bayon style) which has the names of "metta karuna mudita upekha" written in Khmer script on each side. This statue was donated to the Chithurst/Cittaviveka Buddhist Monastery, near Petersfield, W. Sussex. The abbot of Chithurst, Ajahn Karuniko, has kindly agreed to carry out a small blessing ceremony for this statue through a group chanting of Parittas by the resident monks after the meal on Saturday 13th June 2015 |
